The restaurant menu features traditional Spanish cuisine with local produce and influences from different backgrounds. Options include semi-cured and cured hard cheeses with homemade quince jam. Heartier dishes, often braised in local wine with foraged mushrooms, are available. Desserts vary. A six-course Chef's tasting menu is available for a minimum of two people. Hot breakfasts include cereals, breads, fruit salad, juice, yogurts, cold cuts, and hot beverages.
Activities and Views
The hotel has a setting suited for hiking, canoeing, cycling, and fishing. It is situated in the Grazalema protected parkland, near the Sierra de Grazalema, which is ideal for hiking, painting, wildflowers, horse trails, bike paths, and birdwatching. Guided walks can be booked to trek along the El Majacete river, through the Pinsapar woods, or into the Guarganta verde. Horseback trails along the lake or into the mountains are available for 2-4 hours daily. The municipal pool, set in landscaped grounds, offers views and includes changing rooms, shower areas, and a bar/restaurant. Playita is a grass park bordering a spring-fed mini lake.

Al Lago is 90 km from Jerez. Zahara is in the middle of the Grazalema protected parkland. Nearby landmarks include Mirador de Zahara de la Sierra (1 km), Sendero de Los Llanos de Rabel (4.5 km), Hacienda El Mirador (4.5 km), Sendero La Garganta Verde (3.5 km), the Castle of Zahara de la Sierra (1 km), the tower of tribute (1 km), and the Church of Santa Ana (4.5 km). It's a short drive to the woollen mills in Grazalema, the leather fabricas in Ubrique, and the castle in Olvera.
